Conclusion And Recommendation

Conclusion

The nipa wine (barikolkol) making in Vinzons, Camarines Norte can be a potential source of income among Vinzonians. However, the production of Barikulkol in Vinzons is in its infant stage with reference to the production of Barikolkol in Quezon province. Lambanog industry in Quezon has developed significantly that their products are exported to different countries.

Most of the barikolkol makers in Vinzons came from poor families. The lack of enough capital results to lack of equipment, lack of training and poor working environment with less space and poor sanitation problems. Due to financial difficulty encountered by nipa wine makers, they resort to lending in order to raise the capital that they need. While they may be able to raise the capital for the production, borrowing money is usually coupled with high interest resulting to a lesser income and add to that the lack of government programs and support to aid them in their livelihood.

Recommendations:

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Vinzons should commence a program that will help the nipa wine makers in improving their product. The following are programs that the LGU of Vinzons can initiate to help local wine makers:

- Give financial assistance to local wine makers

- Coordinate with other government agencies like the DOST and DTI to help them in product development

- Conduct seminars and training among local wine makers
